Brahim Diaz to represent Morocco
Brahim Diaz who plays for Real Madrid as an attacking midfielder has decided To represent Morocco and accepted there official call.
Morocco have been trying for five years to convince Brahim to play for them, with the team’s head coach travelling to Milan and Madrid about five times this season. The Moroccan FA president, Fouzi Lekjaa, and politicians from the country have also visited Brahim.
The 24 year old was born in Spain and has represented the Spanish Senior side once in 2021 friendly against Lithuania and managed to score in a 4-0 win.
Besides being born in Spain Brahim was born from a Moroccan Father, he is free to switch international allegiances.
The switch has not been made official yet with some formalities still to be completed. As part of the process, the Moroccan FA has to submit a request to FIFA for Diaz’s change of nationality.
