Vin scored twice in the Semi's for Real Madrid

  Highlights            Vinicius Junior scored twice as Real Madrid came away with a draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie with Bayern Munich. The Brazilian took advantage of two errors from Bayern defender Kim Min-jae - beating him for pace and slotting a shot past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for the opener, before the South Korean fouled Rodrygo in the box and Vinicius put away the resulting penalty. But Sane sparked the hosts into life early in the second half, beating Lunin at his near post with a piledriver before Harry Kane slotted home from the penalty spot to complete the four-minute turnaround. Bayern controlled the game from then on yet squandered their lead with seven minutes left when Min-Jae Kim brought down Rodrygo in the box and Vinicius sent Manuel Neuer the wrong way to leave the tie all square.

Chipiku premiere division has been launched with an increase of sponsorship

    Blue Eagles one of the team's playing in Chipiku T he K19.8 million Chipiku Stores Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Premiership Division was launched  Saturday  on 28 of  April with hosts Dzaleka Future FC taking on former TNM Super League side Blue Eagles at Dowa Community Centre ground . Chipiku Stores has increased the sponsorship from last season’s K16.5 million to K19.8 million. Chipiku Stores spokesperson Brown Mkangama said they are anticipating stiff competition following the increase in sponsorship. “We are also looking forward to a free from violence session and very competitive one,” said Mkangama. Dzaleka Future FC official Precious Munthali said they are geared to take on Blue Eagles in the opener. The Premier Division has 24 teams divided into three groups of eight teams.

Ipswich Town expecting a back to back promotion

Ipswich Town moved up to second spot in the Sky Bet Championship standings with just one game remaining after securing a 2-1 win away at Coventry City. The victory sees the Tractor Boys go three points clear of Leeds United going into the final day on Saturday, meaning a point at home Huddersfield Town will be enough to secure back-to-back promotions for Kieran McKenna's side. Kieffer Moore put the visitors ahead inside 10 minutes, but Coventry improved after the restart and drew level thanks to Haji Wright just past the hour mark. But Ipswich refused to lie down and it was Cameron Burgess who claimed the matchwinner - less than five minutes after being pegged back - to put Ipswich on the verge of Premier League football for the first time in over 22 years.

Silver to leave chelsea

The Brazilian, who joined the Blues on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain in 2020, has made 151 appearances for the Blues. He has won three trophies in that time, including the 2020-21 Champions League. Silva, 39, says his love for the club is "indescribable". "Chelsea means a lot to me. I came here with the intention of only staying for a year and it ended up being four years," he said. "It is already hard saying goodbye in the most normal of circumstances but when there is a mutual love, it’s even harder. But once a Blue, always a Blue." Chawinga's goal wasn't enough to save PSG in the Semi's

    Tabitha and teammates after defeat   Tabitha Chawinga scored a goal but was not enough to take PSG through to the final of the UEFA Womens Champions League as the Parisans lost 1-2 to Olympic Lyon in their second of the semis on Sunday. Chawinga had to level the game on 41st minute after Lyon had taken an early lead but the visitors scored their winner on 81st minute to progress into the final 5-3 on aggregate. Chawinga finishes her debut campaign with 6 goals and three assists in 12 games in the tournament and one goal plus one assist came in the Preliminary round. Lyon will play Barcelona which reached the final after a 2-1 aggregate win over Chelsea.

    Tabitha Chawinga   After becoming the first African player to win the Italian Serie A Women Golden Boot award after scoring 23 goals in the 2022/23 season . Scorchers Captain  Tabitha TC11 Chawinga has been named the 2023-2024 player of the season for the French D1 Arkema  League following her impressive performance in the League. Chawinga scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists for her team PSG Féminines   in the just ended season.  She has also been named in the League's best 11 of the season alongside her three teammates; Grace Geyoro, Sakiba Karchaoui and Elisa de Ameida.  

FAM and FIFA organised a workshop aimed to strengthen the women's football in Malawi

The  Football association of Malawi  in conjunction with FIFA have organized a three-day Capacity Building Workshop for Women’s Football Administrators aimed at strengthening the development of women’s Football in the country. The workshop which commenced on Monday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, is being attended by Women’s football administrators from the National Women’s Football Association, Regional Women’s Football Committee Members, District committee members and Clubs. Speaking during the opening ceremony FAM President Fleetwood Haiya said  the Association applied for the program after noting managerial challenges from the regions and districts during the inaugural the under 16 and under 14 leagues last year. Haiya explained that the workshop is beneficial in equipping Women’s Football administrators with the necessary skills and knowledge to run the sport.

Chilly Condition for Mighty Mukuru Wanderers

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers  felt the chilly conditions after they were held to a goalless draw by Bangwe All Stars in a TNM Super League match at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre. After being dislodged from the summit of the log table by Silver Strikers on Saturday, the Nomads needed to win to return to the top, but were frustrated by the strong-willed hosts who matched them pound for pound. The Nomads are third with eight points, two short of leaders Silver and a point behind second-placed Mzuzu City Hammers. They are also tied on points with fourth-placed Kamuzu Barracks (KB) as well as their arch-rivals FCB Nyasa Bullets who are fifth. The three teams are separated by goal difference

A trophy hunt for Harry Kane

Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur on a four-year deal last August for an initial 100m euros (£86.4m) plus add-ons. While it was hoped he would hit the ground running given his obvious quality and ability, Spurs' all-time top scorer has exceeded expectations at Bayern. He has scored 42 goals in all competitions in his debut campaign for the Bundesliga giants, beating his previous best haul of 41 for Tottenham in 2017-18. Thirty-five of those goals have been in the German top flight and he is six short of Robert Lewandowski's record of 41 goals in a Bundesliga season with three games left. In 10 Champions League matches Kane has netted seven times and provided three assists, including a penalty in Bayern's 2-2 draw in the quarter-final first leg against old rivals Arsenal. Only Kylian Mbappe has scored more than Kane in this season's competition.

Saizi with registered his first goal

          Robert Saizi Flames midfielder, Robert Saizi, scored his first goal for ZANACO as the Bankers beat Kabwe Warriors 2-1 in the MTN Super League in Zambia on Sunday. Saizi was granted a start in the match and paid the trust with an opener on 10th minute before Isaac Shamujompa on 44th minute and Aka Mwachiaba Scored for Warriors in the second half for a consolation. Meanwhile, Chawanangwa Kaonga was not available for ZANACO the same as Chifundo Mphasi missed for Warriors too.

Bullets unveiles there away and third away kit

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has unveiled there away kit and third away kit on 25 April after they Unveiled there Home Kit on 5 April 2024. Bullets was wearing there home kit as there away kit and third away kit were not unveiled. The People's team traveled to Kalonga were they faced Chitipa United and managed to travel back to Blantyre with there three points and three goals in BAG, as they were supposed to put on there away kit.  Today the people's team will host Baka  city at Kamuzu Stadium and there away kit and third away kit is not yet to be launched on the pitch.

Slot to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool's next Manager

Arne Slot is set to become Liverpool's next manager after a compensation deal worth up to £9.4m was agreed with Feyenoord. Feyenoord's Arne Slot turn to bethe strong candidate to take over as Liverpool manager from Jurgen Klopp after Xabi Alonso who is yet to make history at Bayer and Ruben Amorim who is linked to another premiere league team. The Dutchman is composed to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who announced on 26 January 2024 that he would leave Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season. Feyenoord assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff and head of performance Ruben Peeters are set to join Slot at Liverpool.

Goshen City has unveiled a K21 million sponsorship for the Goshen City Women's National Championship Bushiri made the symbolic cheque presentation to FAM President Fleetwood Haiya and National Women's Football Association Chairperson Adellaide Migogo  in Lilongwe. Haiya led the Malawi Women’s Football National Team, the Scorchers in presenting the 2023 COSAFA Women's Championship trophy to Bushiri in appreciation of Goshen City's K29 million support towards the team's participation at the tournament held in South Africa last year. Bushiri has also given the Scorchers K10 million as a token of appreciation for winning the regional championship.  The Women's National championship which will draw 10 teams will take place at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe next Month.

Leicester City has been promoted to Premiere league

Leicester City has been promoted to Premiere league after Leeds suffered a 4-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Friday night. Leicester were top of the Championship for the majority of the season, but a major dip in form that saw them lose six games in ten between February and April had left them in a vulnerable position. On the pitch wins against West Brom and Southampton took them back to the top of the league, and now they are able to focus on winning the Championship title.

Klopp endorsed Slots immenent appointment.

Klopp endorsed Slot’s imminent appointment at his press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of Liverpool’s Premier league match against West Ham United on 27 April.  “What I like a lot about it is if he is the one then he wants to take the job – he’s desperate, excited, let’s go for it,” said Klopp, who is stepping down at the end of season after nine years at the helm. “I like the way his team play football and all the things I hear about him as a guy. Some people I know, know him, I don’t know him yet. Good coach, good guy. “If he’s the solution for the club then I am more than happy. It’s not up to me to judge but it all sounds really good to me.”

Football Association of Malawi President Fleetwood Haiya has hailed TNM Plc for increasing Super league sponsorship by 350 percent from K150 million to K500 million. Speaking at the sponsorship unveiling ceremony in Blantyre on Wednesaday afternoon, Haiya said FAM is excited to see the relationship between Sulom and TNM growing despite changes in the leadership of the two institutions. “When there are changes in the offices like in this case Sulom having a new president and TNM a new CEO sometimes the chances of partnership continuing are not there. Manchester United will face Manchester city in the  Emerates FA cup finals  for the second straight season.  It's the first time in 139 years that the same two teams have reached successive Finals and only the second time in the competition's history.  Manchester City qualified to the finals after beating Chelsea 1-0 on 20 April while Manchester United qualified after beating Coventry 4-2 at the penalties after a dramatic comeback for Coventry from 3-0 down to 3-3 . The FA finals will host at Wembley on 25 May 2024, Manchester city are the defending champions.

Bayer Leverkusen keeps the unbeaten run alive.

Bayer Leverkusen  has managed to keep the unbeaten run alive after scoring at 90+7 for a draw against Borrusia Dortmund.  The goal from Fullkrug helped Dortmund to take a 1-0 lead at 81 minute, Later at 90+7 minute Stanisic goal kept the unbeaten run alive for Bayer Leverkusen. Bayer Leverkusen has been the only team that has faced Zero defeats in all competitions this season, there today's draw has extended the run to 45 games unbeaten in all competitions. Leverkusen are  already Bundaliga champions with 4 games remaining, qualified to Europa league semi-final and qualified to DFB Pokal final.

Rainford Kalaba has regained consciousness

      Rainford Kalaba   Former Zambia National Football team captain has regained consciousness after six days in a coma. Nearly a week after being involved in an accident that threatened his life, former Chipolopolo skipper Rainford Kalaba has regained consciousness. Kalaba was involved in a ghastly road accident last week which claimed the life of a lady who was driving. But spokesperson for University Teaching Hospital, Nzeba Chanda where Kalaba is admitted has given an update to Zambian media that Kalaba has regained full consciousness and the ability to talk. "Mr. Kalaba's condition has greatly improved and is stable. He took his first meal today, his fully conscious and able to talk "However, the medical team continues to provide close monitoring and care," Chanda said. "We shall continue to update the general public on his condition."

Bayer are Bundesliga champions

Bayer Leverkusen  won the  Bundesliga   for the first time, ending  Bayern Munich ’s 11-year run as champions of Germany. Xabi Alonso  runaway leaders wrapped up the title in style with five games to spare after a 5-0 home win over Werder Bremen, sparking jubilant scenes as fans celebrated a first Bundesliga title in the club’s 120-year history.  Leverkusen, who could yet complete the first-ever unbeaten season in the Bundesliga  , become the first team to beat Bayern  to the German top flight since Jurgen Klopp led Borussia Dortmund to the title to consecutive titles in 2011 and 2012. 

Arsenal failed to take advantage

Arsenal have failed to keep there number one spot after 2-0 defeat at Emirates against Aston villa. The Gunners had a 11 straight unbeaten run in premiere league this year. Goals from Bailey and Ole Watkins tarnished the gunners dream of premiere league title and ends there unbeaten run. Mikel Arteta's side would have returned to the top of the Premier League with victory and were even handed a boost before kick-off when Liverpool slumped to defeat against Crystal Palace. 

Liverpool suffer title damaging defeat

Liverpool faced a back to back defeat at Anfield making there premiere league title hopes suffer a huge blow. The Reds are the contender's of premiere league along side Manchester City and Arsenal, Manchester city are on top of the table with 73 points , Arsenal coming second with 71 points and  Liverpool coming third with 71 points. The defeat on Sunday delayed the Reds chance of coming the leaders  An early goal for Eberechi Eze was sufficient to earn Crystal Palace a shock 1-0 victory at Anfield.

Dominic Solanke has now scored more goals for AFC Bournemouth in a single Premier League season than anyone else from the club. Solanke's goal against Manchester United made him to surpass Josh King who scored 16 goals in the 2016/2017 premiere league season. Dominic Solanke is now the third top goal scorer with 17 goals along side Alexander Isak and Mohamad Salah, with only three goals away from Erling Haaland who is the top goal scorer with 20 goals. In an interview with AFC Bournemouth TV (AFCBTV) Solanke said "I was a ware with it, for the last few games now I've wanted to get that next goal so yeah, its a great achievement, am over the moon".

Wrexham AFC has been promoted to league One

Wrexham  has been promoted for a second straight season after beating Forest Green 6-0 on Saturday 13 April 2023 . The team owned by the two Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhaney keeps on following the script as they have done it back to back.  Reynolds and McElhaney completed their takeover of Wrexham in February 2021. In 2023 the team was promoted to England's Football league for the first time in 15 years. Today Wrexham AFC has been promoted to league one, This marks as their second straight season promotion.

Former Zambian international Rainford Kalaba dies in tragic accident

Former Chipolopolo midfielder  Rainford Kalaba has died at the age of 37 after suffering from severe fractures and concussion. The 37 year old was involved in a car accident Saturday 13 April 2024 along Kafue road in Lusaka Zambia.  Rainford Kalaba had 105 appearances for the nation team and he was also part of the 2012 Zambia Chipolopolo squad that lifted the African Cup of nation trophy.  He further etched his name in football by helping TP Mazembe clinch the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup titles in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Tabitha has been nominated as Women's player of the year at Cosafa awards

Tabitha Chawinga has been nominated as "Women's player of the year" category along side the Zambian Duo Barbra Banda and Rechael Kundananji at the inaugural Cosafa Awards. The Scorchers captain had a best season in Italy Serie A Women while playing for inter Milan as she managed to be the top goel scorer and bring the golden boot home. The 27 year old is now playing for Paris Saint Germain Feminine and she is at the top G/A chart in the Division 1 Arkema with 17 goals and 10 assist.  The 2023 COSAFA  gala awards ceremony will host in Durban, South Africa on April 19.

Premier League to Introduce Semi-automated Officed Technology

Premiere League has agreed to the introduction of Semi-Automated Offside Technology.  The new system will be used for the first time in the Premier League next season, and it is anticipated the technology will be ready to be introduced after one of the autumn international breaks. The technology will provide quicker and consistent placement of the virtual offside line, based on optical player tracking, and will produce high-quality broadcast graphics to ensure an enhanced in-stadium and broadcast experience for supporters. 

Bullets has Unveiled there first home kit

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets   has Unveiled there first Admiral home kit yesterday 5 April for 2024 season which will start on 6 April. The people's team was still wearing there last season kit the whole preseason as they were playing with Kalembelembe Stars and Chatoloma Admarc  in there  2024 pre-season training match in Dowa at champions stadium. Nyasa Big Bullets wore there last season away kit as they defeated Silver strikers in the Charity Shield Match. The people's team will play their first Super League match against Dedza Dynamos, and there first Admiral home kit will be ready.
