FAM and FIFA organised a workshop aimed to strengthen the women's football in Malawi



The Football association of Malawi  in conjunction with FIFA have organized a three-day Capacity Building Workshop for Women’s Football Administrators aimed at strengthening the development of women’s Football in the country.

The workshop which commenced on Monday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, is being attended by Women’s football administrators from the National Women’s Football Association, Regional Women’s Football Committee Members, District committee members and Clubs.

Speaking during the opening ceremony FAM President Fleetwood Haiya said  the Association applied for the program after noting managerial challenges from the regions and districts during the inaugural the under 16 and under 14 leagues last year.

Haiya explained that the workshop is beneficial in equipping Women’s Football administrators with the necessary skills and knowledge to run the sport.

Bingu National stadium  The Football Association of Kenya, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe have agreed to hold a four Nation tournament during the upcoming FIFA international window between 18-26 March in Lilongwe, Malawi. The tournament will feature the Senior Men's National teams (A Teams) for all the four nations. The tournament will aim at giving opportunity for the four national teams to face quality opposition in preparation for upcoming competitions like FIFA 2026 world cup and AFCON 2025 qualifying campaign. During the same period youth tournament for the four nations will also take place. these U20 tournaments will aid in developing and exposing elite youth talent while preparing teams for upcoming 2024 AFCON Under 20 qualifiers later this year.

De Zerbi casts doubt over Brighton future

Roberto De Zerbi has cast doubt over his  Brighton future by refusing to commit to the Seagulls for next season and revealing he wants to have talks with club owner Tony Bloom about his next steps. The 44 year old whose current deal at Brighton expires in 2026, has been linked with replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield in the summer. The Italian who is known with his unique tactic which guided Brighton to position sixth  in the Premier League last year, earning them a place in European competition for the first time in their 122-year history. Vin scored twice in the Semi's for Real Madrid
